Leeds is located in north-central Alabama, approximately 15 miles east of Birmingham and 100 miles south of Huntsville. The city’s humid subtropical climate produces perfect weather for enjoying the beautiful Central Alabama outdoors. Leeds is situated along the banks of the Little Cahaba River, a popular floating destination that features excellent conditions for beginning and intermediate canoeists. The river is the setting for the Creek Bank Festival, a popular community event held each April that features live entertainment, arts and crafts, children’s activities, and a pie bakeoff.

Leeds is home to the Outlet Shops of Grand River and is located just minutes from Barber Motorsports Park, a 740-acre multi-purpose racing facility that is home to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. The Leeds Downtown Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district is home to more than 20 historic buildings, including the Leeds Southern Railway Depot, a circa-1884 structure that was donated to the city by Norfolk Southern Railroad in 1984.
